IAGG World Congress Presentation!

I am thrilled to be presenting at the July 2017 IAGG International World Congress on Gerontology and Geriatrics in San Francisco, California. This is a Big Deal… with 6,000 expected attendees from all over the world that takes place every 4 years, and has not been in the USA since 1985. Previous locations include Paris, Rio, Seoul, Vancouver, Budapest, Tokyo and Jerusalem.

I’ll be presenting Light Years: Illuminating our Images of Aging, talking both about the film and the broader scope of impact that the images we put forth (and digest) about aging have a very real affect on us.

I’ll be joined by esteemed researcher Becca Levy, PhD, from Yale University, who will speak about her groundbreaking research showing the tangible impact of both positive and negative stereotype messaging about aging on our self-concept and health.

We’ll also have an emerging researcher Cassandra Sagness presenting with us,  who will speak about how film screenings can serve as community building events that bridge intergenerational understanding.
